Republic
Day is celebrated
every year in India on 26th January honouring the date on which the
Constitution of India came into effect in the year 1950.
The
constitution declares India a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic
republic, assuring its citizens justice, equality and liberty and endeavours to
promote fraternity. Are we truly a Democratic Republic upholding these great
ideals? Let’s give a closer look at the Preamble of our Constitution.
